So as you know, I'm in the process of losing weight. I'm reverting back to high school and doing the swimming thing (in hopes to get to where I can run again comfortably and when I get a bike, eventually do some triathlons). Yesterday was supposed to start the process of waking up, going to a pool and swimming for about 30-45 minutes, just to get my arms used to it again. Well, that didn't go as planned. I woke up too late, had a bad banana and was stuck on the john for about 20 minutes (it COULD have also been due to Cici's pizza the night before). I had a great session planned and then just saw it all flush down the toilet (I'm getting really good at puns, even though they are horrible). So I do some push ups and sit ups and remember how much I hate those, but oh well.
Today I set my alarm for much earlier, wake up ready to go (just as a side note, I'm retyping this section because it disappeared, even more frustration). I wake up to the tunes of Black Betty by Ramjam and am excited. Then Kim doesn't feel well so I stayed in bed an extra 30 minutes to make sure she'll be ok (plus I just passed out). Wake up, get my suit on, get my energy bar, fill up the water bottle, grab a towel and I'm out the door. Get to the pool and can't find my goggles. Luckily I found them and got into the pool area. I do my stretches, put my goggles on, stretch em to make sure they're ok and *SNAP* YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING! The one day I don't bring an extra pair, of course is the day they would snap. But I'm here, I'm gonna swim. I jump in and the water feels absolutely wonderful. Open my eyes and stinging from freshly chlorinated pool. Do about 100 yards and I think "Probably shouldn't go to work with blood shot eyes." Get out go to check to see if MAYBE I had brought another pair, and no of course not. Get home, find EVERY pair of goggles I own and fix them. And now I'm sitting here in front of this computer and ready for tomorrow.
So, on to Kim. She's been feeling nausea for the past several days. Her first aversion is to milk and most calcium for that matter. No milk, yogurt, ice cream, even TUMS don't go down well. Luckily no conversations with the porcelin prince, and I'm very thankful for that (as I'm sure she is). She also started having an aversion to the smell of meat cooking (which is what my sister's aversion was when she was prego). Other than that she's been doing really well! Reading books and eating healthy, I'm very in love with her! This week she is doing a seminar about "Differentiated Learning" (basically how to work with the different types of kids in the classroom.) She is quite amazing and I'm very thankful that I'm married to such a wonderful woman.
Time for work! Have fun ya'll!

Latest
Well Kim went in for paperwork and to pee on the stick again to make sure we're prego and we are, so that's GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTT! Her BP was great and things are coming along. Our "first" appointment with the doctor will be on July 6th and I couldn't be more excited.
We're also really looking forward to getting to see Justin this afternoon as he is in Tallahassee for some meetings and will be dropping by after they are done!
In other news, I have been in a hunter's safety course for the past 2 weeks and the class portion finished up last night. We met 2 nights a week for 3 hrs and some of the people made me want to shove my pen through my eye with just completely stupid questions, but oh well. We had to take a test to make sure we understood the manual, 100 questions. I aced it in about 15 minutes. Now comes the fun part: shooting guns! Tomorrow morning at 7:45 we'll be shooting a 20 gauge shotgun, a .22 long rifle and a compound bow and arrow. For those of you wondering "When did James get into guns?" It's been awhile coming, I just needed a nudge, which came from my friend Alex. Then I started asking my dad and we've been shooting out at the range every time I go down to Poke county, so I still need a lot of practice, but still pretty excited at the same time.
One other bit of news, I'm losing weight and I already feel it. My goal is to lose at least 10 pounds each trimester, so that I will be in shape and ready to rock n roll when our little one comes! As of now, I'm mainly swimming a few days a week and will begin running again shortly. It just stinks because it's so stinking hot out, but oh well, I guess that's how it goes. Have fun ya'll!

Since we've found out

So it's no surprise that we are starting this blog to begin our new family journey. When we first found out it kind of struck us like.. holy crap, we're gonna have a baby. Now that things have started rolling, it still strikes us as holy crap, we're gonna have a baby, but we can do this.
Kim and I have known that we are prego for about 3 weeks now. We still have yet to see an OB/GYN, but our first appointment is set for July 6th. The day after we found out we went to the bookstore and bought the usual books, "What to Expect when you're expecting" and a book on nutrition and what to eat. We also started looking even harder about finding a house to move into. We're also very blessed because Kim is not working this summer and having the summer for a break during the first trimester is certainly a welcome joy in Kim's life.
As far as the name game goes, we're pretty set on the boy's name and there are a few front runners for girls names, and no we're not telling you what they are. As far as finding out the sex, we're still on the fence, but we figure we still have quite awhile to figure that out, but you'll know when we know.
We're also keeping this on the DL as much as possible, so only family and close friends know about this wonderful news. This is pretty hard for us, because we're bursting with so much excitement. Well any hoot that's enough for now!
